With an experimental approach at every stage of her work, Bucharest based instrumental music composer, Dalina Diaconeasa, takes her audience on a new adventure with every piece, bringing together influences from musical worlds otherwise rather unlikely to meet:

Contemporary Classical Music, Japanese Anime Culture and German Punk Rock to name just a few.

Driven by a keen passion for foreign languages and their respective histories and cultures, a constant inflow of multicultural elements seem to naturally find their way into all aspects of her works, including the titles, artworks and subjects of the pieces as well as the music itself.

Sprinkled evenly throughout this already vividly colourful mix, are the acousmatic and electronic elements which stem from yet another keen passion, that for music technology, acoustics and psychoacoustics.

She discovered her passion for music by teaching herself classical/romantic piano pieces by the likes of Chopin, Beethoven and List, in her early teenage years.

This, combined with an extensive knowledge of music theory and impeccable score writing skills, leaves people with the impression of her being a classically trained musician.

However, this is not the case.

Dalina studied music at The Academy of Music and Theatre Arts, part of Falmouth University, in Cornwall, UK, an institution as distinct from a conservatoire as it can possibly get.
